Free Academic Enrichment for High-Need Schools

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program provides Federally Funded after-school academic support and enrichment for students attending eligible schools.

21st CCLC Goals
  • Make available an on-site after-school program for the benefit of students and parents of a school.
  • Provide low-income students who are not receiving other financial assistance an opportunity to attend an after-school program.
  • Contract with agencies/programs/individuals to provide specific enrichment services for after-school programs.
  • Provide after-school programs that allow students, parents, community resources, and staff to participate in the total program.
  • Monitor for quality programming and compliance to the standards.
  • Provide after-school programs that include, but are not limited to, constructive recreation, academic enrichment, and personal development.

 The purpose of 21st CCLC grants
  • To provide opportunities for academic enrichment and tutorial services to help students, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools, to meet state and local performance standards in core academic subjects;
  • To offer students a broad array of additional services, programs, and activities to reinforce and complement the regular academic program of participating students.
  • To offer families of 21st CCLC students’ opportunities for literacy and related educational development.
Eastside Elementary of Cairo, Georgia

Students who attend Eastside Elementary School who are in grades Pre K – 5th may be enrolled into the program. Afterschool 85 students & Summer only 55 students.

Students in grades Pre K - 5th who attend Southside Elementary School may be enrolled in the program. Afterschool 45 students & Summer only 25 students.
