- Child Care Programs: Licensed, state-approved after school child care program. Present certification of 100% Achievement of Excellence from the Dept of Human Services for our child care services- Bright From the Start Program. Our After School Child Care Program operates Monday through Friday from 3:30 to 6:30 pm. During the summer months we operate a Summer Enrichment Program from 7:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. In both of these programs, we provide structured educational enrichment through the 100-Book Challenge Curriculum, homework tutoring for approximately 75 children, ages 5-12. Once their homework is completed, the children participate in curriculum enrichment activities centered around our subjects of interest -gardening, computer training; drama, crafts, career building skills. In addition the children are provided with meals and/or snacks, depending on the length of their day with us.
- Gardening- Our young students from the after school and Summer Programs work in the garden under the tutelage of a master gardener twice a week. The children harvest and cook their own produce which is shared throughout the community periodically during the year. The children sell their produce to neighborhood families at minimal costs. Donations are also be made to the Thomas County Food Bank.
- Family Night: Fourth Friday of every other month, beginning July 2010, families of the children enrolled in our after-school programs are invited for food and fun. TCRC serves a free dinner and plan activities around a different theme each month. It is an opportunity for family members to have fun together and meet the other families of the children in the Center programs. At the same time, the children are able to show off the projects and activities in which they have created.
