“Grand-partners in the Garden”
pairs senior citizens with our young students to work for 8 weeks
in the garden, in the kitchen and in the classroom (They pick the produce,
learn to cook it, share lunch and then work on either arts/crafts, or
journals, etc
Wellness programs
Through the Community Wellness
Center we are providing, in collaboration with the Thomas County Health
Department, a Teen Clinic where adolescents 13-19 can receive free clinical
services and reproductive health education.
Free cancer and cardio health
screening programs are provided on a monthly basis at the Wellness Center
with the help of the Health Department and Archbold Hospital, who provide
the medical professionals.
A new collaborative grant allows
us to partner with Archbold and TC Health Dept to bring more health
screenings and educational workshops to outlying rural communities in
Thomas County on a monthly basis.
Other
We offer monthly seminars for
executive directors, fund developers and board members of non profits
to help keep them abreast on issues like employee relations; grant writing,
fund raising, board development (2nd Thursday every
month) This too is a collaborative partnership with “SNAP” (Strategic
Nonprofit Alliance Partnership)
TCRC also offers its facility as a meeting place for Narcotics Anonymous meetings; for Family Connections meetings; for Foster Family Association meetings;
