Many successful adults can point to an "afterschool experience" that helped shape their future goals and interests. With your help, our organization seeks to provide the children in our program with the tools and motivation necessary to escape the cycle of drug abuse, crime, unemployment and poverty that has afflicted so many. The ability to read well, to excel in school and the desire to learn are prerequisites to breaking this cycle and we hope that you will join us in this effort.

To ensure that volunteer tutors are prepared and that your time with students is effective, training in our curriculum will be given at various times so that even the most hectic schedule should be able to find a session that meets your availabilty. We strive to effectively complement the curriculum being provided in the student's school. The goal is to increase student achievement, improve the students' CRCT (Criterion Referenced Competency Test) scores and help students secure on-time promotion to the next grade level.

Due to the expansion of our after school programs, our need for volunteer tutors has grown. We welcome your enthusiasm for helping our children stay in school and being successful in building a better tomorrow.
